On June 20th, we hosted “Bronx Brilliance,” a dynamic event that brought together some of The Bronx’s brightest minds from the small business and education sectors. Our goal was to spark connections, fuel collaboration, and ultimately drive positive change in our community.
The event’s centerpiece was a thought-provoking panel discussion moderated by the renowned Majora Carter, a revitalization strategist, author, and entrepreneur. Joining her were Stephany Garcia, Lawrence Fauntleroy, and John Campos, who delved into ways to bridge the gap between the Bronx’s incredible talent pool and the world of opportunity. The discussion focused on creating experiential learning experiences, internships that lead to real-world jobs, and fostering inspiration for the next generation of Bronx entrepreneurs.
The attendees themselves reflected the vibrant diversity of the Bronx. We welcomed entrepreneurs and small business owners, educators, bankers, and representatives from community-based organizations (CBOs). It was particularly exciting to see fellows from our inaugural Cohort from our Community Enterprise Accelerator program (Sol Cacao, MVP Lifeguards, M&M 24HR Daycare) in attendance. We also unveiled some of the program enhancements planned for Cohort 2, which is currently accepting applications!
A huge thank you goes out to Lehman College (Dean Jane MacKillop, Dean Dene Hurley, and Samira Bahrami), the Bronx Business Tech Incubator, and CUNY on the Concourse for their invaluable support.
We’re also incredibly grateful to Level Up Ventures for their unwavering dedication, which makes the Community Enterprise Accelerator program possible.
Together, through collaboration and the vision of our Bronx community, we’re building a brighter future for our incredible borough.
